Being Mindful

Our brains and minds have this amazing capacity for memory and connections. The flaw is that we can forget things.

God reminds us not to forget things that are important, especially the Lord our God. Success can cloud that remembrance. (Deuteronomy 8: 11-14)

We are called to set our minds on things above, things of God and Heaven. It is an active thing that we must do. (Corinthians 3:1-2)

We are called to think on things of God. Think about how Jesus lived His life. We then practice these things we think intentionally. (Philippians 4: 8-9)

Talking about being mindful calls to being intentional.

Purpose of message:
All of us here are called to a God centred life. Are we involving Him in all our planning and doing? We can have minds that easily wander off.

We serve a true and living God. What more then, that we should we be keeping God as centre on a daily basis? This takes intentionality.

As we begin 2019, let’s make God the centre of it all and having ‘booster events’ that help us fight the forgetfulness.

‘Booster Events’ For Being Mindful
1. Being mindful of God’s presence and love. Take time to remind ourselves that God is with us. (John 14: 16-17)
2. Being Mindful of God’s Rhythm in our lives. Are we aware of the rhythms that God has for us to help us follow after Him? In doing so, we find the rhythm and rest of being close to God. Taking time to be alone with God.(Matthew 11: 28-30)
3. Being mindful of God’s passion for others. Spending time with Christ and receiving His love enables us to love and serve others. 1 John 3: 16-18

Always be aware that a life centred around Christ will always bring the greatest fulfillment.
