Deeper In the Holy Spirit
Text: Ezekiel 47: 1-5
What is the function of the Holy Spirit?
We can agree that the Holy Spirit is powerful and something Christians need.
He is my Comforter, Helper (John 14:26)
The Wind of Heaven, my joy and gladness and so on and such.
We all need water in life. It is essential.
Water symbolizes the Holy Spirit.
The temple symbolizes us.(1 Corinthians 6:19)
This means that the Holy Spirit flows through us. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us. When He does, we can change the world.
The Holy Spirit is not dead. He is very much alive in us.
In the Bible demons love to camp around tombs where there is death. A tomb hosts something that is death.
A temple is meant to host the presence of God, something alive.
The question is are we a tomb or a temple? We need to be alive once more.
Matthew 23:27- speaks of the Pharisees remembering what God once did. Like many of us and like them, we outwardly have righteousness but inside everything is dead.
We often look at God and Holy Spirit as a tomb and something that lived once in the past. We live in the past success and exploits but God wants to move through us now. He is alive inside of you.
When He moves, it will be something new and beyond our imagination.
Matthew 12:39- we think of an evildoer as murderers and thieves etc. The Pharisees were outwardly good but inside were obsessed with the past of the things of God and hated the Presence of God. Some of us live in the past of the yesterday God.
They were adulterous, like some of us, were cheating on the Presence by having an affair with the past.
Some of us are still dwelling on our glory days. It’s good to remember where we came from. But we need to be hungry and thirsty for the move of the Holy Spirit.
We live like the Holy Spirit is not ablaze in us. We are made to bring down the reign and power of heaven down through us.
Smith Wigglesworth was disliked by many when he was alive. He cast out demons and resurrected many people but was very aggressive with his methods.
He once killed a man when he punched a man in the chest with a heart condition to heal him as he was angry with sickness. The man died. Smith Wigglesworth brought him back to life.
Only after Smith Wigglesworth died did people pay attention.
When the Holy Spirit moves, structure and plans have to collapse. He might show up in the most unexpected place. God can speak everywhere and anywhere.
If you are looking for where God used to be, we can start to criticize how God moves in the present. We ought to change our mindset and attitude because we ought to be hungry for the presence of God.
Ezekiel 47:2- Holy Spirit is a river not a reservoir, flowing and promoting life and moving and not stuck.
We may feel dead and stuck inside but the Holy Spirit is ready to awaken us.
1 Kings 17:7-
God is going to shift us into a new dimension of His Spirit to flow through you. To cause us to move into a new place of victory, hope, peace and blessings. Don’t be dead.
