Guard Against Anxiety. Why?
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.
●When you believe the devil when he says all kind of negative things about you. John 8:44.
●Bible definition of Depression.
To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for “THE SPIRIT OF HEAVINESS” That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord , that He may be glorified.”
Purpose: What causes Anxiety?.
Matthew 6:25-32 ..Jesus said
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
●UNBELIEF THAT PRODUCES WORRY
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
The Root of All these is UNBELIEF.
● So How Do I Fight These Unbelieve
●When I am anxious about my ministry being useless and empty, I fight unbelief with the promise of:
Isaiah 55:11. “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
●When I am anxious about being too weak to do my work, I battle unbelief with the promise of Christ,
2 Corinthians 12:9
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”
●When I am anxious about decisions I have to make about the future, I battle unbelief with the promise,
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you”
●When I am anxious about facing opponents,
I battle unbelief with the promise, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
●When I am anxious about the welfare of those I love, I battle unbelief with the promise that:
if I, being evil, know how to give good things to my children, “how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
●And I fight to maintain my spiritual Commitment with the reminder that:
Everyone who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for Christ’s sake, shall “receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life”
●When I am anxious about being sick, I battle unbelief with the promise,
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all”
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Be The Doer of the Word.
