●Prayer Can Help Us Understand Ourselves Better.

?I Chronicles 4:10
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

●When we spend time in conversation with God, we get to hear the way we talk about ourselves. We can hear the negative things we say about ourselves along with our own hopes and dreams, and how we want our lives to turn out.

?I John 3:20‭-‬22
For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

●Prayer gives us an opportunity to better understanding who we are in Christ. He shows us our purpose and gives us direction when we need to grow.

?Jeremiah 29:11‭-‬13
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord , thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

●He demonstrates how to have more confidence in the Lord and pours out his unconditional love. Through prayer, we see the person God sees when he looks at us.

?Isaiah 66:2
For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist,” Says the Lord . “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.

? “Lord, teach Me to pray,
