Sonship

Speaker:
Service Type:

God is doing a great thing in the Body of Christ during this season of lockdown. God is resetting, realigning, rebranding and rekindling us as believers to what God has called us to do.

God is shaking what can be shaken so that what remains cannot be shaken.

The foundation of this teaching is in Jeremiah 29:11. God knows where we are going, His plans and thoughts towards us.

Whatever this season is, everything will work for good. God is preparing us as the Body and our inner world as individuals.

Pastor Jonathan feels that the Lord is telling the people to prepare their inner structure. (Ephesians 3: 16-19) To go back to the foundation and core of our beliefs.

His Spirit in the inner man: God wants to strengthen our core foundation of our beliefs. To strengthen our inner man.

What is our response to God in this strengthening of our inner man? This choice is powerful in either moving us backwards or forwards.

It is very hard for a slave to become a king. (Proverbs 30:22)
What does this mean?
We have anointing and know God but we operate in the orphan spirit. We behave other than our identity in Christ. There is more than enough in the Kingdom of God.
Being a son first unto the Lord is important.

Romans 8: 14-15, 17

Whenever we are with the Lord, we can sometimes operate out of the orphan spirit. God is calling us to be sons and daughters first; to a sense that we have a Father and that He does care for us and everything He has for us is a good thing.

He wants to restructure the way we see the Father and how we live out our lives.

We sometimes believe God will be not enough and we will live in a slave, master mindset. If we don’t do enough, He will withhold from us.

This is echoed in the story of the prodigal son. After walking away from the father and spending all his inheritance, the son realized that the father had more than enough rooms and supply. The son realized why he needed to go back. This is a picture of the Kingdom and the Father.

Most problems in society are due to the abandonment of fathers. In the Garden, the enemy tricked Adam and Eve out of sonship. Repent, change the way you think and break agreement with the enemy.

Adam and Eve felt shame and abandoned. God still met them. God will never shame and guilt you into His righteousness. He does discipline us but He doesn’t shame.

Sin and shame cause us to run from God and community (1 John 1:9). There is something powerful in being truthful to God and community.

God wants us to be victorious. To come out from abandonment, shame, rejection, condemnation. Jesus took care of that on the Cross to restore communion with God.

The enemy is afraid of us being saints knowing our identity in Christ, having communion with the Father and moving in the power of the Holy Spirit.

An orphan spirit always goes against the love of God. God forgives us and His love never fails towards us.

An orphan spirit is full of jealousy and doesn’t celebrate someone else’s breakthrough. God wants to raise us up as sons and daughters and know that we have all that He is.

We are seated in the Heavenly places.
There are certain chairs we can choose to sit on.

1. The chair of Sonship: commitment, communion with the Father, Spirit filled, rest in Christ,(Romans 8: 14-17)

2. The chair of the carnal: comparison rather than commitment. The orphan spirit. We strive, we perform, we try to earn His love. We try to please God by works

God wants us to be sons and daughters of God. The orphan spirit is healed only in the love of God.

Jesus ministry started with the approval of the Father and the awareness of His Sonship (Mark 1:11)

Where do we need to surrender to God and allow Him to Father us?

Let the Father into those places where you need to be Fathered.
