As A Man Thinks

Service Type:

The theme for greater evangelism will be covered from January to April (Isaiah 60: 1-3, Romans 10: 14-17).

The goal is the spiritual development of the body of Christ. We cannot have evangelism and revival without discipleship.
———————

“for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is the anchorage that we need. Those who know their identity in Christ cannot be shaken.

“But God’s idea of purpose isn’t about DOING. It’s about BECOMING. So, the ultimate question when considering your purpose isn’t, “What do you DO?” Instead, the question is, “Who are you BECOMING?”
God is concerned about who you’re BECOMING, not what you’re DOING.”
-Frank Powell

It is not about our doing but our becoming, which requires being renewed in the mind.
God is concerned not with out doing but our becoming.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As a man thinks, so shall he become. The thought patterns we have are what determines what we become. (Proverbs 23:7)

You sow a thought, you reap an action.
You sow an action, you reap a character.
You sow a character, you reap a destiny.

Right thinking leads to right believing. Right believing leads to right leads living.

The enemy makes battle in our mind to distort out destiny but it is God who restores, renews and transforms our mind.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The overflow of your mind is your heart. And the overflow of your heart is your mouth.

Purpose:
Changing the way we think will change our way of living and reveal our destiny.

“So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.””
‭‭Judges‬ ‭6:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Gideon had thought patterns that put himself down. We often have thoughts that we have learned.

“Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.”
‭‭Judges‬ ‭6:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Our circumstances often make us cowards and have fearful thought formations.

“And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!””
‭‭Judges‬ ‭6:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God gave a revelation to Gideon that completely changed his thought patterns.

When our thought pattern changes, our destiny changes.

Many of us are intimidated and humiliated by the circumstances we are facing. A spirit of fear prevents us from moving forward.
But this doesn’t change what God says about us. We just need to become what God says we are.

In Judges 7 and 8, Gideon’s thought pattern changed and he overcame his battle. God in the midst of a changed thought pattern produced a victory in Gideon’s life.

We are not what our circumstances say about us. We are who God says we are.
