Building Firm Foundations

Speaker:
Service Type:

This is the season that God is rebuilding His church.

““Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:24-29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up;”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We’re not talking about a building but the people of the church.

The progression of the Lord is always moving forward, going from glory to glory. We are being moved forward into His latter glory.

With all the circumstances and the darkness surrounding us feeling so real, so much more is the power of God.

We are in the last days. And He has promised to pour out His Spirit on us in the last days.

As we build our house on a firm foundation, He pours His Spirit out.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
‭‭John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We have to gear up for what is coming from God. God will never fail. Hold on to His promises and the breakthroughs coming.

“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Be confident in what He has done, what He is doing and what He will complete.
We are in the progress of being built up.

NOW is the time to take back what belong to us. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

The plans of God over you are never dependent on you but His nature. He nature is that He is always good.

God is building His church.
NOW is the time to rebuild our lives upon this firm foundation and be unshakable.

There are two people with houses who went through the same storm but emerged with two different outcomes.

The house on the rock stood firm.
The house on the sand had a great fall.

Both people heard the voice of God. The difference was that one of them chose to obey and the other did not.

When we hear the voice of the Lord, what do we do? More importantly than hearing is obeying His voice.

There’s also a difference between immediate obedience and delayed obedience.

Delayed obedience causes us to miss out on the plan and purpose of God in that moment.

Are our lives founded on the rock? The storms will come but if we are founded on the rock, we will not be shaken.

What we do with our lives is on us. To be not only hearers but also doers of the Word.

Our lives are not storm free but we can be storm proof.

The storms in our lives are meant to be indicators of the strength and the integrity of our lives, not instructors.

We are meant to be building our lives founded on the rock before the storms and not after.

It is sometimes not the enemy who sends the storms but God. Both people who built their houses went through the same storm.

Even when you hear the Word of God, you still will go through storms. These storms are not meant to break you but to build you.

We are being rebuilt on the firm foundation of Christ, the solid rock.

It is also important to rebuild our lives and to build His church. We all have different gifts to bring to serve the house of God.

These are the last days. If we want to see a greater move of God, we need to put our hands to the plough. This church is my church and your church.

Every single one of us are owners of the church. Let us play our part. When we play our part, He will do His part.

Do you know your identity in the house of the Lord? Every single one of us can serve in the house of God.

God is building His church and the gates of hell will not prevail.

No matter what we are facing, there is always a good enough reason to put our hand to the plough.

4 points for rebuilding our lives upon the solid rock:

1. R epent
2. E ngage with the Lord
3. S urrender to Jesus.
4. T rust in Him according to His Word

When we do this, we will find ourselves in a place of REST, unshakable on the firm foundation no matter what storms we face.
