Deeper With the Holy Spirit

Speaker:
Service Type:

This week is the week leading up to Pentecost and the day of the Holy Spirit falling on the church. If you are hungry for the more of the Holy Spirit and to partner with Him, this message is for you.

Ezekiel 47: 1-5

Water bring life, that cleanses and purifies.
The temple represents the dwelling place of God.

The water here symbolizes the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19 says we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore the river of the Holy Spirit is meant to flow through us.

We are coming into a season where the Holy Spirit wants to partner with us and flow out of us; to go deeper in the Holy Spirit.

We are the caretakers of our temple, though it came from God. We are responsible for taking care of the temple (our spiritual growth) and going deeper into the river of the Holy Spirit.

In order to get deeper in the Holy Spirit, we must learn, and be responsible, how to ‘swim’ in the Holy Spirit. (Ezekiel 47:5)

2 Keep Points To Going Deeper in the Holy Spirit:

1. My temple has to be cleansed by Jesus. What is normalized in our everyday lives, God wants to neutralize and cleanse it (negative thinking, sinful habits, compromise, jealousy, fear, anxiety, depression, generational curses). God wants to consume us and have His people back to Him. (Matthew 21:13, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 3:26). The inferior things mentioned do not belong in our temple and are being driven out of our temple by God.

2. Our temple needs fresh supply. The illustration comes from the virgins with the oil and the lamps. Only the wise virgins had a fresh supply of oil to burn. (Matthew 25:8) The foolish virgins were dependent on the wise. We need our own time of encounter, devotion and revelation with God in order to go deeper in the Holy Spirit. The fresh supply comes from our daily communion with God. Do not forsake daily connection with God for anything else. It also comes from reading of the Word of God. The teachings of Jesus are light and easy to follow. (Matthew 11:28-29)
