Embracing a Lifestyle Of God’s Presence
There are 4 things that God requires of us as we enter into this prophetic season of acceleration.
1. Spend time in the presence of God
2. Trust God like never before
3. Expect a great harvest
4. Lean on the Holy Spirit
We will focus on spending time or embracing the presence of God.
“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.”
Ephesians 5:17-21 NKJV
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is just once. But we are to be continually filled with fresh wine/oil (Psalm 92:10)
How many are spiritually dry or have a hardened heart? Get the refilling of the Holy Spirit.
The spirit man is renewed in this refilling. It refreshes us. We have a change of attitude and become people of thanksgiving.
This also renews our service and servanthood to one another.
“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Psalms 16:11 NKJV
Purpose:
To arise up this pandemic, endemic and difficult and challenging circumstances and take a stand. The people of God have been subject to fear, anxiety and all that pulls us down for too long.
Enough is enough
“No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;”
Psalms 91:10 NKJV
“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Isaiah 60:1-3 NKJV
We are made to arise and shine so the light of the gospel can be shared.
How can I embrace a lifestyle of His presence?
This season of restoration, restitution and rebuilding comes from being His presence
Embracing His presence looks like many things. One dynamic way is true worship.
“speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,”
Ephesians 5:19 NKJV
Sing and make melody to the Lord in your heart.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Colossians 3:16 NKJV
Singing with grace in your hearts.
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.”
James 5:13 NKJV
The definition of psalms is our joyful expression of our intimacy with God.
True worship is a spontaneous song from the inner man to God, the voice of heaven in the inspiration of the Holy Spirit
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
A merry heart is found in a true place of worship. Where the presence of God is there is true worship.
The early church probably didn’t have all the modern music styles of today but they supplied music and lyrics from deep inside.
Through the intimacy with God, true worship arose. True worship is a password to His presence.
“And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 13:52 NKJV
“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.”
Acts 16:25 NKJV
How does He come through for us with His love?
“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.””
Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV
Let spontaneous worship come out of us through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
