Hearing God’s Voice
A new day is dawning on us and the church. A season is ending and a new season is beginning. (1 Peter 4:7)
——————————————————————
We want to see a new day dawning and yet the circumstances don’t seem to be well. A lot of fear, uncertainty, anxiousness and doubt.
Our feelings and circumstances may not resonate with the promise that God will do something in our lives.
The desire to hear His voice is very real, in these situations we face. We are desperately seeking for God what is trying to say.
Psalm 29: 3-9 gives us a glimpse of the voice of the Lord. God can speak in the loud, thundering voice. But He also speaks in the still small voice.
The call and privilege to hear God’s voice still stands (John 10:27) and to follow after Him.
In any human relationship, communication is key to staying connected. Communication takes effort and conveying information clearly and to understand what each other is saying.
When it comes to communication:
1. Communication takes times
2. Communication takes trust
We being created in the image of God means we need to hear His voice. It takes time and trust.
It takes time and trust to know that God speaks all the time and listening to what He wants to say, even if it’s not what we want to hear.
For good communication to happen in hearing God’s voice, we need:
1. A common language, the Bible. (John 1:1, 2 Timothy 3:16)
2. A common platform, the secret place of your heart with the Spirit. (Matthew 6:6-8, John 14:26)
3. A common goal, He wants communion with us. (Revelation 3:20)
As we await for the new day dawning, keep communication with Him a constant. It is so important to hear His voice.
