Keep It Simple
“Nothing seems to be more attractive than the person of Jesus.” Pastor Derrick Teoh
When Jesus walks in the room, nothing else will matter in that moment but looking at the Most beautiful One.
When two or three are gathered in His Name, He is there. He is ready to pour out His Spirit upon us.
We just have to fix our eyes upon Him. He is the solution.
“Jesus was at Bethany, a guest of Simon the Leper. While he was eating dinner, a woman came up carrying a bottle of very expensive perfume. Opening the bottle, she poured it on his head. Some of the guests became furious among themselves. “That’s criminal! A sheer waste! This perfume could have been sold for well over a year’s wages and handed out to the poor.” They swelled up in anger, nearly bursting with indignation over her. But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why are you giving her a hard time? She has just done something wonderfully significant for me. You will have the poor with you every day for the rest of your lives. Whenever you feel like it, you can do something for them. Not so with me. She did what she could when she could—she pre-anointed my body for burial. And you can be sure that wherever in the whole world the Message is preached, what she just did is going to be talked about admiringly.””
Mark 14:3-9 MSG
When you stand for the Lord, there will be opposition.
“You are not in this life not to please anyone but to please the Only One.”Pastor Derrick Teoh
This woman poured out her oil upon Jesus.
The Lord is preparing every single one of us to have a posture of surrender to give everything to have all for Him
”Are we willing to give everything church, just to have Him?” Pastor Derrick Teoh
The woman broke the alabaster jar of perfume too. It is worth even the bottle for the value of One standing before her.
“Jesus is worth every drop of perfume.”Pastor Derrick Teoh
We expect Him to be the Saviour of our lives without expecting Him to be the Lord of our lives.
Totally surrender means that when your desires crosses the will of God, nothing else matters but the will of God.
Are we willing to surrender control and give up the pressure of performance that is unhealthy?
Clear out the room of our heart and let Him go deeper.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
Knowing how to be Mary and sitting at the feet of Jesus is different from applying it to our lives.
There’s a difference between sitting at His feet like a slave and sitting at His feet like a Son.
“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV
Why does deliverance from evil mean? Why is it mentioned? Deliverance is meant for Christians.
There are things in our lives that can become open doors for the enemy. We are meant to pray for deliverance from addictions, thought processes, our hearts etc
Those things are not our portion. Ask the Lord to deliver our hearts, and check the condition of our heart, from these things so that our hearts are fully His.
He longs to be with you. Are we still in love with the Lover of our souls?
“Clear out your room and make room for Him” Pastor Derrick Teoh
Falling in love with Jesus, trusting Him, leaning into Him is simple.
Loving Jesus is meant to be simple.
Acknowledging Him in our lives and acknowledging the need of Him are two different things.
Our relationship with God is as simple as ABC:
Acknowledging Him.
Believe He wants to connect with You.
Continuously commune with Him on a regular basis.
