O, Give Thanks To The Lord For His Mercy Endures Forever

Service Type:

Psalm 136: 1-4
The title for this sermon is from this passage and speaks of the mercy of God.

There are a 174 times that the word ‘mercy’ is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments.

The most humble prayer that we need for such a time as this is for the mercy of God.
The church needs to cry out for the mercies of God in these chaotic times. With bended knees, a broken spirit and a contrite heart we need to cry out for mercy.

Grace enables the unable. Mercy brings repentance and renewal in people’s lives (Acts 3:19)

God’s tender mercy responds to human needs. No amount of human planning, vaccinations, wealth or otherwise seems to be able to help.

This pandemic, wars in nations, political instability and economic turmoil need the mercies of God.

We have a God who has a Biblical and historical track record of removing this pandemic and bringing revival. We need Him to pour out His mercy.

When the church of God begins to cry out, the unmerited mercy response of God will come.

2 Chronicles 20: 21-22
King Jehoshaphat cried out for mercy from destruction and God intervened with unmerited favour and mercy.

The mercies of God will surely defeat this pandemic.

Purpose of message:
For such a time as this, we need the mercies of God. We want to be mercy seekers. (Psalm 123:2-3)

In Malaysia, 3 bondages need to be broken:

1. The Coronavirus Pandemic
2. The Politics
3. The Economy

The only way that Malaysia can shine again is through seeking the mercies of God. Our nation needs a fresh revelation of His mercies.

Simple Reasons The Mercies of God Won’t Fail:

1. God is going to declare His mercies in saying “It is enough” regarding our situations and pandemic, bringing them to an end. (2 Samuel 24: 14-16)

2. The tender mercies of God will cleanse you and hold you close.(Psalm 51: 1-2, 17)

3. As long as righteous people pray, God will release His mercy. (James 5: 15-16, Genesis 18: 26-29)

4. The mercies of God will not fail as they have been purchased by the blood of Jesus, which never fails.
