Obedience to the Heavenly Vision
Don’t Grow Weary in Pursuing Others with the Gospel by Pastor Betty
The apostle Paul defends himself in front of King Agrippa against false accusations, particularly against the Jewish community and defilement of the temple.
John 16: 2-3 indicates that Paul did not really know the Lord in His early years when he was not born again. (Acts 26: 9-11) He persecuted and killed believers.
In spite of this, the Lord was gracious (even when grieved) towards Paul and gave him an encounter and salvation experience.
This clearly shows that God desires that all would be saved and none perish without Him. He chose us. (2 Peter 3:9, John 15:16). This is our call to do this. He is with us so we can continue in faithfulness and obedience, without losing heart in pursuing people unto salvation. (Luke 18:1).
Paul’s Encounter with Jesus by Pastor Jonathan
It is impossible for someone to meet Jesus and not be transformed. His ways of choosing the disqualified to be in the Kingdom is not our way. No one is beyond God’s mercy.
Saul was encountered by Jesus (Acts 26:14-18) and brought from the darkness of the religious system into the light of Christ, becoming Paul. Paul was appointed to bring others into the same light by sharing the Gospel (Acts 26:18).
The encounter with Jesus transforms us. One touch from Jesus is able to change everything. Our life and circumstances take a different turn. Could it be that our cities change by the encounter that we have?
When you get touched by the Lord, you become alive towards God and righteousness. (Ephesians 2:5) Life only comes from Jesus.
When you know Jesus, you’re more prone to righteousness than sin. Don’t sin by faith but have faith in the righteousness of Christ (Romans 6:12).
These things need an encounter with Jesus. We are made alive in Christ. We were made for freedom from sin and sickness, through the power of the Gospel. (Ephesians 2:6)
The transformation comes through an encounter with Jesus, seated with Christ in the heavenly places. Our purpose and identity changes in Christ (1 Corinthians 1:1)
We are called to point people to Jesus. When we encounter Jesus, we want to give Him away to others.
Obedience to the Heavenly Vision by Rev Benedict Rajan
Paul tells Kings Agrippa that he was obedient to the heavenly vision from God (Acts 26: 19-20, 1 Samuel 15:22, Acts 9:5, Matthew 24:14)
An apostle is called to be apostle after an encounter with Jesus.
Purpose of this message:
The book of Acts is supposed to continue with us.
We may not have a heavenly vision or encounter like Paul but we do have a heavenly call.
We have a heavenly call from Jesus to preach the Gospel and bear fruit for eternity.(John 15:16)
How do we go forward and bear fruit unto eternity?
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:14-17 NKJV
Where do we become obedient to this heavenly call?
1. Be obedient to this call with your loved ones. Don’t grow worry in praying for them.
2. Be obedient to this call in our neighborhood. (John 4:29)
3. Be obedient with the people we meet everyday. (Acts 26: 28-29, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
