Paul’s Example As A Soul Winner

Series:
Service Type:

The book records Paul’s second missionary journey with Silas and Timothy. The book outlines various components of Paul’s preaching.

“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:26-28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is presented as a God of time and season. He also determines the place of our citizenship. Every nation of this world belongs to Jesus. God is still God over Malaysia, not matter what circumstances may say.

In Him we live and move and have our being (Galatians 2:20, Colossians 1:27, Philippians 3:9)

Paul is an example and encourages Timothy, as well as us, to be an excellent soul winner through the Gospel (2 Timothy 4: 2-5) even when it brings persecution and trouble.

Purpose:
When you reach out to others, the Lord will reach out to you. (Proverbs 11:25, Romans 10: 13-17)

3 Dynamic Examples of Paul as a Soul Winner in Acts 17:

1. Paul preached from the heart of compassion. (Acts 17: 16-17) We need to preach the Gospel to all who are lost from a heart of compassion.(Romans 3:23, 6:23, John 3: 16-18, Matthew 9: 36-38)

2. Paul continued to preach in the midst of insults and rejection. (Acts 17: 32-34, Matthew 27:42) Popularity is not something we should expect in the preaching of Gospel. We still need to be fervent in the preaching of the Gospel (Luke 10:16)

3. Paul preached with wisdom and respectful challenge. (Proverbs 11:30, Acts 17: 23-24) With wisdom, we gently turn people towards the Gospel and the Bible.

It is important during this time of pandemic that we don’t remain silent about the Gospel and bring His comfort to those in need of it (John 4: 34-35). This pandemic not only brought problems but also ripened the harvest field. Let us become soul winners and pray for a burden for souls. (Matthew 4:19)
