The Weight Of Waiting

Speaker:
Service Type:

Waiting can be really exhausting and drains us mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Waiting can be excruciating.

When we are in these situations, it can be tiring.

For those who are in a season of waiting, don’t give up on holding on to Jesus.
Be steadfast and immovable in the waiting even if it has been weeks, months or years.

If Jesus can turn Malaysia around, what can God not do for us?

God is good and He never fails. His promises cannot be shaken.

“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭29‬-‭30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Let Jesus do the heavy lifting for you. Let the weight of waiting upon Him.

God moves through you in situations and circumstances to use us for victory.

The word wait in Hebrew means having great anticipation. When we wait, we have great anticipation in Him speaking.

We are all here to have an encounter with the with the One we behold.

When we wait on God, there is a great anticipation to see His face.

God is not looking for an anointed one but a present one. For one’s willing to wait on Him.

It isn’t about inactivity. Waiting is the activity of refining our focus on Him, stewarding and focusing on Him. Everything about us becomes fixed on Jesus. We are called to be captured by the beauty of the Lord.

There is always a divine exchange in prayers. If we aren’t changed after prayer, we have been complaining to God.

As you come into His presence, the weight of our waiting is exchanged for His weight is light.

Jesus is the solution for our problems. We sometimes go to Him for what He can give rather than who He is.

Things cannot remain the same when we come into the presence of God. Some thing is happening when we are trusting God and waiting on Him, the firm foundation who will see us through to the breakthrough.

Your miracle, breakthrough, healing is found in Him. The weight of waiting seems overwhelming and we may feel like we are losing but in reality we are winning.

What you’re not seeing now doesn’t determine what you will see later.

We all need to see through the lens of God.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We can be rest assured that we have a future of hope.

Are you able to be satisfied if you only look at Jesus for the rest of your life?

We all need a God lens so God can leads us and we can navigate the seasons of waiting.

“And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.”
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭6‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God gave Joshua His perspective.

“You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.””
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭6‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

For the vision of the Lord to come to pass, we are called to live by faith and not sense, to obey without question. It doesn’t make sense but it is God’s way.

Joshua waited in perseverance and saw His breakthrough. Many of us give us short of going around the wall seven times.

Our breakthroughs are often on the other side of our unbelief. Repent from unbelief.

Wear on the lens of God. We start speaking what He says.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In that refined focus, God becomes our only solution and plan A. Turn to the Lord.

“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Your breakthrough is dependent on Him and not our experiences.

Our waiting as a purpose and a meaning. As we wait, our mind comes into alignment and His will starts to look like ours.

“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As 2022 ends and 2023 comes, there are many breakthroughs that are still yet to be. Can we contend with the Lord in His presence for the breakthrough?

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God burst through for David facing the Philistines in the valley. The valley was renamed from the valley of giants (Valley of Rephaim) to the valley where God bursts through. (Baal Perazim)

“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Lord is positioning us for the greater things of God to come.
