How Will They Hear?

Service Type:

Text:

“For you see, even though I proclaim the good news, I can’t take the credit for my labors, for I am compelled to fulfill my duty by completing this work. It would be agony to me if I did not constantly preach the gospel! If it were my own idea to preach as a way to make a living, I would expect to be paid. Since it’s not my idea but God’s, who commissioned me, I am entrusted with the stewardship of the gospel whether or not I’m paid.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9:16-17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Even though we are facing this pandemic, let us not lose sight of the mandate for Calvary City Church this year; “How will they hear?”

““How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:14-17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Purpose:
Why should everyone one of us preach the gospel? We are called to do so for the harvest of souls (John 4:35)

There are two reasons to preach the Gospel, based on 1 Corinthians 9: 16-17.
The stewardship of the Gospel belongs to us.

1. We are called to preach the Gospel. (Acts 9:15, Acts 1:8)

7 Fold Gospel Call:
1. We are called to be end time harvesters (Matt 9:38)
2. Rescuers of souls (Jude 1:23)
3. Christ’s Ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20)
4. Salt & Light (Matthew 5: 13-16)
5. Fishers of souls
6. Intercessor of souls
7. Soul fruitbearers (John 15:16)

2. We are entrusted with soul stewardship. (1 Corinthians 9:17, Romans 13: 8, John 3:16-17, 1 John 3:1, Romans 5:8)
