3 Things Encouragement Does To Us
Encouragement builds confidence.
Does your confidence grow when someone lets you know you are doing something well?
Encouragement improves attitude.
We never feel worse after someone encourages us.
Encouragement promotes action.
Sometimes moving forward, taking action and trying new things is hard – for anyone.
Purpose:We have A God Given Encourager With Us At All Times.
:someone who makes us more determined, hopeful, or confident
: someone who Always Draws us close To God.
Let’s see Who is this Person?
Isaiah 28:10-12
“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.” For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, To whom He said, “This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest,” And, “This is the refreshing”; Yet they would not hear.”
Isaiah 30:15
“For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not,”
Jesus Before His Ascension Spoke About This Great Encourager
Luke 24:49
Acts 1:8
John 14:16
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—”
How Do You Than Draw Encouragement From This Eternal Encourager?
Have you wondered why Paul said this in 1 Cor 14:18
“I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all;”
What Happens When We Speak In Tongues?
Text:I Corinthians 14:2, 4
“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”
How?
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself,
The Very Answer
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God,
To Understand This Better let’s look at :
John 16:13-15
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”
A Great Spiritual Exchange of Edification and Encouragement Takes Place:
