Going After Revival

“There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things be?””
‭‭John‬ ‭3:1-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Nicodemus is intrigued by Jesus and was seeking answers about what kind of man Jesus was. There was certain things Nicodemus was doubting, due to his upbringing and culture, with regards to Jesus.

Jesus to came to show us the way, to reveal the Father and to follow Jesus.
Nicodemus went to Jesus about how He was doing the things He was doing.

Jesus presents to Nicodemus that a man but be born again in God. Jesus reveals Himself to a teacher who is full of questions.

Just like Nicodemus, we can seek a personal word from Jesus. Nicodemus knew only by knowledge what he had learned. But there’s something about experiencing the Son of God. The same is available to us through Jesus.

When we are born of the Spirit, we are synchronized, prepared and orchestrated to glorify God and to fulfill the call and destiny of God upon our lives. (Romans 8: 29-30)

There is a question in every person’s heart to go after God that can only be answered by Jesus Christ. We have the responsibility, privilege and honour to point people to the answer of Jesus.

There’s a pull and a longing to see a move of God that leads to revival; God becomes real, His presence becomes manifest and nothing else matters. Where we return to the heart of God.

We are called to pray and preach the Gospel. The answer for the things of revival is the pouring out of His Sprit.

“‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We burn for the answer of the revival for our generation, people and the nation which is the move of Holy Spirit; a move of God.

This a season for the beginning of the Book of Acts happening in Malaysia. Going after the things of God and the Spirit.

Nicodemus had a certain perspective but when the answer came from Jesus, it changed everything. Nicodemus was real about his struggles with God. God is looking for people who are honest about themselves and will repent from something and turn to Him.

Have we been with Jesus enough? Repentance is not just saying sorry. What are we repenting from and repenting into?

Revival is pursuing God’s heart. Nicodemus knew he needed what Jesus had and was honest with Jesus.

Personal revival leads to community revival leads to city revival leads to national revival and leads to nations experiencing revival.

In praying and seeking the Lord, we will be confronted in our minds to reveal our hearts:

1. Be honest with the Lord with your troubled heart. Have a conversation with the Lord.(Jeremiah 33:3)

2. Make time for Jesus. Don’t rush.

3. Empty yourself. The greatest enemy of your future with what God wants to do is your past experience. Humble yourself before the Lord. God honours everyone who seeks Him.

4. Go after His heart. Be intimate with Him. Have a relationship with Jesus. When we go after revival, we go after Jesus.

Pursue Jesus to find revival. God wants to use us for revival. Revival always produces lovers of Jesus.

We are standing at the crossroads of what God wants to do and salvations that will come; the quest to see God come.
