How Terrible I am if I don’t Preach the Good News.
1 Corintians 9: 16
“Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel”.
This is a principle that applies to all of us who have tasted the goodness of the Gospel and do not preach it. It would be agony to not do so.
Purpose of this message:
[in line with the theme of “How Will They Hear” (Romans 10:14)]
We need to become all things to all men that, by some means, we may preach the Gospel.
1 Corintians 9:19-23 shows how Paul became all things to all men to preach the Gospel and save souls. Preach the Gospel to anyone, at anytime, at any place, by any means.
We are called to be Christ’s ambassadors; representatives to the Kingdom of Jesus. We are an agent of God to release the newness of God to people. (2 Corinthians 5: 17, 20, Matthew 6:33)
This is harvest time and we are called to win souls.
Is the Word of God chained in our lives in selfishness and self-centeredness?
How many have died without knowing Jesus because of our failure to preach the Gospel? (2 Timothy 2:9)
How will they hear if no one is there to preach the Gospel to them? (Romans 10: 13-16)
The places where we can share the Gospel as fishers of Man (Matthew 4:19) are:
* for our loved one (Acts 16:31)
* our neighborhood (John 4:39)
* our workplace (Matthew 5: 13-16)
* Witnessing is our responsibility. Converting is His responsibility.(Psalm 126: 5-6)
We must not be distracted from preaching the Gospel (John 9:4, 1 Corintians 1:18)
The Gospel is not valid once:
1. death comes to our loved ones
2. someone goes to hell without redemption
3. it is spoken in Heaven, even though it is the Word of God
4. it is not shared or spoken
The purpose of the message is not to condemn us but to share the Gospel to those who need it; to have a burden and vision for souls.
