I Am Sent

Speaker:
Service Type:

The theme for 2021 is “How will they hear?” (Romans 10:14)

As a church, this theme is crucial and timely. During this pandemic, we have a tendency to be self-focused and self/preserving; praying for ourselves.

But what about those who don’t know Jesus? They can’t call on Jesus if they have not heard of Him or if no one has told them.

We are called to be the salt and light of the earth. But how can we be that if we don’t add flavor to the lives of others or bring light to the rest of the world?

We are made to be sent to preach the gospel of peace (Romans 10:15)

“unless they are sent” and “how beautiful are the feet” are two key phrases in the sermon.

Yes we are sent by God but why the focus on the feet? Why would anyone admire beautiful feet?

The Lord has commissioned us to be sent out. Knowing this fact is one thing but doing it is a different thing. As Christians it is our burden and responsibility to share the gospel but doing it is another.

What we do with what He has told us to do is key. This is obedience in submission. Even when we don’t know how, He blesses us and makes us beautiful with His glory when we obey, doing the works of the Lord.

Small things with big obedience brings great revival.

We are meant to share the Gospel. Every seed that is sown is an opportunity and every opportunity is a divine appointment.
All the time is a good time to share the Gospel.

Romans 10:17
The more you share, the more they hear. The less you share, the less you hear.

We keep sharing until they become aware of how good God is to them. When they realize the goodness of God is relevant to you, it will become relevant to them. That will become their moment of salvation.

When someone is in a place of darkness, we become a light for Christ in a dark places.

We are anointed and appointed to go out and share the good News. The great commission is for every single believer.

No one is not good enough or not qualified enough to do this. No one is too young or old to do this.

The news we watch or hear today is meant to let people know of recent happenings. The news you watch has an expiry date. The Good News has no expiry date, relevant to anyone at anytime.

The Good News is superb news

The Spirit of God is in you for your sake but the Spirit of God upon you is for others sake. (Isaiah 61:1)

What are the ways we can share the Gospel?

1. Know your Jesus story. Always prepared to share the Good News as and when required. (2 Timothy 4:2) Use the 5W & 1H method (refer to message)

2. Sharing of testimonies. Be aware of the goodness of God in your life.

3. Show care and concern to those around us. People don’t care what you know until they know how much you care. (1 Peter 4:8, 10)

With these points, we are more than equipped to be the sent ones, those ready to share the Good News.
