Fighting The Good Faith Fight

Speaker:
Passage: John 16: 31-33
Service Type:

We are involved with a fight with Covid-19; it has affected us all.

John 16: 31-33:
The term tribulation in Greek means great pressure, the equivalent to pressing grapes together to extract the juice.

Regardless of who you are, you will face tribulation. This pandemic has made this apparent and everyone is involved.

The valley is a place of our lowest and the greatest dangers and challenges. No one likes to be in the valley. It’s in this place we sometimes get hit by challenges before we even have had a chance to recover from the last hit.

Before Jesus faced the Cross and tribulation, Jesus said in this verse to be of good cheer even in tribulation.

Why? Jesus has overcome the world. In Jesus victory is guaranteed.

The purpose of Jesus is having eternal life, even right now through this pandemic.

Not all is at it seems. We can’t yet see the breakthroughs, the healings, the deliverances etc that God is working out. What you see is not going to be the permanent; be of good cheer (2 Corinthians 4: 8-10)

Whatever may come, we have the true lion of Judah that overcomes.

We are in a fight but realize:

1. God is with you in your fight. Invite Him into the fight. (Deuteronomy 20:1-3, Matthew 23:37-38)

2. God will provide the resources for the fight. (Psalm 34:10) God see things in you that you don’t even see in yourself. (Judges 6:11-12)

3. Root yourself in the Word. Have one foot in the Word and one in the fight, like David did against Goliath.

4. Fight with faith. Sometimes we have to trust His timing, be still, believe and let Him work it out. (2 Chronicles 20)
