The Season of Kindness
Text:
Titus 3: 4-5, 2 Peter 1: 5-8
Kindness is such a familiar topic which we sometimes miss out on in certain aspects pertaining to it.
Purpose of the message:
To have a sharper focus for targeted application of kindness. To be more effective and productive for the Kingdom value in the things we do.
Don’t see the pandemic as a passing thing. See it also has a sovereign season of God; find the thing that God wants to do in us for the preparation for the things to come.
Kindness is a God-given attribute relevant to this season of the pandemic.
Kindness is:
1. A God trait (Jeremiah 9:24)
2. A fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5: 22-23)
3. A Relationship Builder (Ephesians 4:32)
4. A Hallmark of love (1 Corinthians 13: 4-5)
5. A Believer’s Outerwear (Colossians 3:12)
6. A Daily “Supplement” (1 Peter 5:8)
Avenues of Kindness:
1. Kind Words: to lift, heal, restore, complete, admonish (Ephesians 4:15-16, 1 John 1:7, Proverbs 18:21, Proverbs 25:11)
2. Kind Deeds: to relieve, minister helps, provide ( Proverbs 14:21, Proverbs 19:17)
3. Kind Consideration: to preserve dignity, make allowances, enable recovery (Deuteronomy 24:19)
Gratitude is a motivator, living in faith and hope, for the purpose of God has for us in showing kindness.
Kindness will keep us helpful and productive; keeps our focus outward.
In our acts of kindness, we glorify God. We distribute kindness to all regardless of who they are.
God will show His provision and reward us in our showing kindness. (Proverbs 19:17)
